Wayne & Kathy || Blue Mountain Beach Wedding || Destination Wedding Photographer Micah Jones

Wayne & Kathy were two very special people and their marriage would join together and blend their two wonderful families.  This was a very special wedding for us because our Dad served as minister to join them in marriage, our Mom made the bouquets, and our good friends Hanie & Marie Nasri catered their event, as well as my good friend Nancy Anderson made their gorgeous wedding cake. Dakoda shot their rehearsal dinner in Santa Rosa Beach and then I shot their wedding while Dakoda filmed.  On their big day we had some storms come through and even a beautiful rainbow right over the house, but everything cleared long enough to have a beautiful touching ceremony on the beach and then some portraits and then the rain came back just as we finished and went on to enjoy a very intimate family reception in their beach house.

Patrick & Angie || Destin Wedding Videography by Dakoda Jones || by Destination Wedding Photographer Micah Jones || Florida Wedding Photography

Patrick first contacted me last year from Iraq about photographing his marriage to Angie.  We had many emails back and forth and he hired me for their big day and we planned to do a shoot before the wedding when he got back to the states.  I finally got to meet him and his gorgeous bride to be at the Bridal Faire in Ft. Walton Beach where I had a booth in January.  But it turned out there was no time for our shoot because he got sent right back overseas but to Afghanistan.  He is that guy that you see hanging out of the helicopter with the cool big gun.  I am truly in awe of him and his bravery!  Dakoda just thought he was the coolest guy in the whole world! My family and I said some prayers for his safe return and for Angie having to live without him.  Once he returned home safe we got together to go over their wedding day plan and make plans for a fabulous after shoot with him in his dress blues.  Their wedding day was a beautiful day but it was a hot one!  I have some awesome photos and Dakoda has the film footage showing the dripping sweat from Patrick’s face!  Not sure they wanted that much detail but that is what you get with an expensive camera…and an awesome photographer and cinematographer!  We headed to the lobby area for a few shots because the heat was just too much.  Everyone had a great time and the love between Patrick and Angie was amazing!  I have to say the best moment and one my family and I will remember forever, and ahhhh I sure wish we had captured it on video is when Angie was dressed and ready to leave her room for the ceremony and we were telling her we would see her down there and we were grabbing all of our equipment and she steps in front of the mirror to check herself and says, “how do I look, would you marry me?”  I mean she looked radiant and gorgeous but the truth is that the love that Patrick has for her, he would have married her if she were wearing a t-shirt, jeans, and her hair in a mess!  Here are some photo highlights with 2 special edits, the one above and the first below.  We have so many good photos it was nearly impossible to pick our favorites! The picture of the little toddler running down the hall at the salon just might be my favorite of my journalistic captures! The full length film and after shoot is coming in a few weeks.

Michael & Tori Engagement || Destination Wedding Photographer || Destin Wedding Photographer

Michael & Tori are a beautiful couple who came down to Destin from Tennessee and we had a great time capturing their engagement photos around Destin Harbor and over on Okaloosa Island.  This was the night I shared a double photo session with my brother who photographed a mom & daughter from Texas.  I think the most memorable part for me was just how in love Tori was with Michael.  She just beamed and giggled with such joy and love…which reminded me of  little girl on her birthday getting a pony!  Not to sound cheesy but that is the joy that came through, just pure and innocent happiness!
