With the ability to see through my eyes the photograph before the shutter is pressed, I am able to capture some of the most precious moments and with the masterful touch of an oil painter’s hand, everything that I create is a work of art.

Over the years of my life I have always been considered to be an expert when it came to art.  During my childhood is when my love of art and anything artistic began.  I set out to experiment and perfect my skills with any sort of drawing materials I could get my hands on.  I won a pastel art contest two years in a row as well as a chalk drawing contest.  At the age of nine I entered the world of oil miniature painting.  My teacher said that I had a natural talent that she could not teach to her students and I was truly gifted.  I spent two years training with her to see things and paint them in miniature, capturing every detail of life in my paint brush but from a tiny perspective.  For awhile I dreamed I would become as good as Da Vinci or perhaps Michelangelo.  There were a couple occasions in my life when I used a camera but, never really anything serious: one being a photography class at a science center. 

In 2003 I became the official photographer for my family’s business which relied on photo advertising to make sales.  Using a camera regularly and trying to create quality images began a fascination with capturing real life art in a single moment of time.  My grandfather before retirement was a commercial artist and had owned a thriving business.  His best advice to me was to learn Adobe and I could go anywhere and do anything with my art.  Through our family’s travels across the country I had many photo opportunities and my passion grew.  Then our family welcomed a new baby brother which inspired me almost daily to photograph this precious baby.  I then turned to concert photography inspired from my love of music as a musician myself.  Instead of college I opted to buy the Adobe CS3 software, Sony Professional Video software, and the best Canon camera and lenses.  I have read and studied everything I can from experienced photographers on the internet.  Since I was home schooled my whole life, this was an easy way to learn for me.  I take my time with each photo because when I look through the lens I actually see everything as if it were a painting… a work of art.  It is a true gift to be able to take single moments in time and create a photograph that will last forever.  Real people, real lives, animals, nature, a bloomed flower that will only last for a day… frozen for one moment to create a lasting memory in the highest quality, artistic way is what I strive to create.  I’m not just pressing a button; I am creating art with my camera.  Let me create art from your life.
